The “Health is a Journey” Health Fair will be held on Wednesday, Feb. 26, from 5 to 7 p.m. at Hope Academy, located on 955 N. Illinois St. in Decatur. Sponsored by Decatur Memorial Hospital, this event will offer activities and giveaways from 20 different vendors.Activities
· Taste-testing and cooking demonstrations for how to prepare winter vegetables and other healthy foods
· Financial literacy resources (budgeting, home loans, savings, etc.)
· Mental health wellness activity
· Health resources
· Indoor workout options and chair aerobics demonstrations
· Home ownership resources provided by a local realtor
· Potato bar with fresh vegetables and grilled chicken toppings
· Food Pantry available for families to shop
Giveaways for randomly selected winners
· Two adult bicycles
· Two children’s bicycles
· One-month passes to Choice Health and Fitness, Decatur Indoor Sports Center, YMCA
· Bus tokens at the event for families who utilize the Decatur Public Transit system
