About this Event
ABOUT CONTACT BEYOND CONTACT (CBC)
— a transformative healing and dance practice that helps you deepen your connection with yourself and how you relate to others — explores dance as a language of communication through leading, following, setting clear intentions, saying yes, saying no and co-creating. CBC focuses on connecting with our heart, presence and body language.
The 2-hour facilitated session includes grounding, partner work and sharing, and ends with a group dance where we come together as individuals and as a collective whole, co-creating with our energy, intention and movement. No dance or healing experience needed - just an open mind and heart.
CBC was created by Vangelis Legakis based on his personal journey in relationships and life. CBC is a conscious dance and movement meditation that blends dance techniques (contact improvisation, authentic movement and passing through) with healing modalities like yoga, qigong and somatic work.
A MESSAGE FROM THE FACILITATOR
Hi, I’m Cathy — I am so happy you are here.
I am obsessed with CBC - each piece I learnt linked to and invoked so much reflection on how I show up in my own relationships and life. After each session, I felt so much more connected within myself and with others.
Somatically I feel moving to express while respecting the boundaries of my partner not only allows us to come back to our body and out of the brain's worry-loops, it also helps retrain our brains' ability to feel safety in connection.
I also love how time it feels different, and you feel like you are expressing and co-creating new each time through body-language, movement and interpretation through constant communication with your partner.
I felt such a deep transformation within and am excited to share this with you all!

ABOUT THE FACILITATOR - CATHY
I am a CBC Facilitator (CBC Level 1), and also a yoga teacher (RYT-500) and a Sound Medicine Quantum Alchemy Crystal Bowls Practitioner (QACBP Level 2). My mission is to help you cultivate the inner strength and open heart to stay grounded in who you are and want to be, no matter what challenge life throws at you.
