🦋 Sunday Reset Hike: Transformation 🦋
📅 Sunday July 19, 2026
⏰ 3:00-5:00pm
📍 Máyyan ’Ooyákma – Coyote Ridge Open Space Preserve
💪🏾Moderate
🧍🏾♀️Led by Sister Kimberly from Black Woman Adventures (BWA)
Join us for this month’s Sunday Reset as we gather for an afternoon of movement, mindfulness, and meaningful connection.
Nestled in the rolling hills of South San Jose, Máyyan ’Ooyákma (meaning “Coyote Ridge” in the Chochenyo language) is one of the Bay Area’s most unique preserves. Home to rare serpentine grasslands and the endangered Bay checkerspot butterfly, this protected landscape reminds us that some of life’s most beautiful transformations happen with patience, resilience, and time.
As we hike together, we’ll embrace this month’s theme: Transformation.
Whether you’re stepping into a new season of life, working toward a goal, healing, letting go, or simply looking for a fresh start, this hike is an opportunity to pause, breathe, and remember that growth doesn’t happen all at once—it happens one step at a time.
✨ What to Expect
🤎 Welcome Circle & Introductions
We’ll begin by introducing ourselves and sharing a simple affirmation to set our intentions for the afternoon.
🥾 Community Hike
Together we’ll complete the 5.1-mile loop, enjoying conversation, beautiful views, and moments of quiet reflection.
🦋 Nature Reflection
We’ll learn a little about the Bay checkerspot butterfly and reflect on what transformation looks like in our own lives.
🌿 Gratitude Circle
Before we head home, we’ll close with gratitude and share something we’re taking with us into the week ahead.
Before You Come
🦋 A FREE Butterfly Pass is required for everyone entering the preserve. Registration takes about one minute, and you’ll receive your digital pass immediately.

🤎 An open heart and a willingness to connect
Please Read
Everyone is welcome! Whether you’re an experienced hiker or joining us for your first group hike, we’d love to have you.
Please note that this is a 5.1-mile loop, and we plan to complete the entire trail together. While we’ll hike at a comfortable, community pace, there are several moderate to steep sections. We’ll pause when needed, hydrate, take photos, and enjoy the journey together.
Transformation isn’t about becoming someone else. It’s about becoming more of who you already are.
Let’s reset, reconnect, and take the next step together. 🦋🤎
Parking is free at this preserve but limited, we encourage you to carpool. Email us if you need transportation assistance.
