Schedule an in-person interview then attend a Head Start enrollment event.
Begin your child’s Head Start journey with Porter-Leath. We look forward to welcoming your child into one of our classrooms. Each Head Start location offers high-quality early childhood education in a safe and clean learning environment. Children must be 3 or 4 years old by August 15, 2026 to enroll into Head Start.
Head Start Preschool enrollment has three steps.

Step 1: Fill out Your Child’s Head Start Application
Step 2: Schedule an Enrollment Interview
Step 3: Attend Your Scheduled In-person Interview with necessary documents.
Note: You do not need to bring your child to complete your student’s enrollment.
The following is a list of documents needed to determine enrollment eligibility:
- Parent’s Photo Identification
- Proof of Parent’s Address (i.e. MLGW bill, lease or mortgage in parent's name)
- Parent/Guardian’s Proof of Income (3 most recent check stubs, 2025 W-2 or 1040)
- Certified Copy of Child’s Birth Certificate
- Copy of Child's Insurance Card
- Certificate of Immunization with Current Physical Exam (within 12 mos.)
- Well Child Summary
- Proof of child's dental exam, if available
Note: You do not need to bring your child to complete your student’s enrollment.
