HDKI GB Squad coaches John Holdsworth, 7th Dan and Julie Nicholson, 7th Dan together with fellow Ronin club instructor Paul Dowell, 6ht Dan will be delivering a Kata Masterclass to raise funds for the HDKI GB National Squad.

Instructors:
Over the years John’s students have achieved numerous National and International titles including two World Championship Individual Kata titles and one World Championship Individual Kumite title and a number of Kata and Kumite titles at European level.
Julie is a former World Kata Champion, three times European Kata Champion, 16 times KUGB National Kata Champion and was the first woman to become Grand Champion at the KUGB National Championships, winning both the individual kata and kumite events.
Paul has been practicing karate for over 42 years, he has had success at national European and World championships, winning medals in both kata and kumite events from the junior ranks through to the veterans categories, with his most recent success resulting in a silver medal at the WUKF world championships in 2022. Paul is a former prison officer with over 26 years service and uses his experience to ensure his kata applications are practical and effective. He is the author of two books and several articles featured in Shotokan Karate Magazine.
