Hazel Jackson Outdoor Classroom & Greenspace MLK Cleanup

Join , the Hazel I. Jackson Foundation, and the for a day of community service at ! Help beautify the Jackson Outdoor Classroom and surrounding greenspace in honor of Martin Luther King Jr. --- this holiday will mark the 30th anniversary as a National Day of Service. This in-person event is a great opportunity to give back to our community and make a difference. Let's work together to keep our outdoor spaces clean and enjoyable for everyone.

Light refreshments will be provided. In case of inclement weather our backup date is set for Saturday, February 15, 2025 from 10 am - 12:30 pm.

Tasks:

• prune and remove invasive plant species
• cut back woody vegetation like random tree seedlings, etc. around sitting areas
• cleanup trash and debris around the school and parking areas

Extra gloves and trash bags will be provided, just come ready to get your hands dirty! Dress for weather, wear gloves and boots or close toed shoes, and bring your own water bottle.

If you have available please bring a pair of pruners or loppers, rake, shovel, etc. Some extra tools and supplies will be available.
