The Hazel Food and ACC Market has been a favourite hangout for residents looking for a day out or to indulge in some shopping since 2009.February 8 was no different, as hundreds of residents gathered at the Pretoria High School Old Boys Club in Lynnwood, Pretoria east.
Jean-Pierre Verster one of the co-ordinators of the market, says that the market’s slogan is “nature and shopping in perfect balance” as the market offers a noise-free experience for its guests.
“You can come here and hear your friends, you can hear nature, you can bring dogs (on a leash) and there’s safe parking inside for people who don’t want to be bothered looking for outside parking.
“We also have a new section called the Pavilion, where the cheese stall is located, one of the best cheese stalls in Gauteng. We also have a fresh vegetable stall. There is a lovely seating area where you can sit and watch the cricket, we had this built together with the club to enhance the market, make it more comfortable and convenient,” he said.
The market specialises in unique handmade products like jewellery, garden bird seed feeders, souvenirs, vintage clothing, indoor plants, boutique toys, candles, books and collectables among numerous delicious food stalls.
