Mark your calendars! The Hawley-Dieckhoff American Legion Post 33 annual car show is taking place on Monday, May 25th from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm. The event takes place Dog’z Bar and Grill - 157 S Green Bay Road in Neenah.
This is the our biggest fundraiser of the year. Along with our Post’s Auxiliary Unit and their annual poppy campaign GBT, Funds raised at this event go to support local veterans and their families throughout the year including:
Gifts for VA hospitals
Free Medical Transportation for Veterans hospitals
Along with the Disabled American Veterans Medical Transportation Service
Visits to veterans in the hospitals and care facilities
Financial Assistance
Scholarships
American Legion High School Oratorical Scholarship Program
An American Legion Baseball Team
Badger Boys State
And so much more…
Included in this post are some pictures from last years event.
The event is put together with donations from local businesses of cash, gift cards, gift certificates, and merchandise, some of which are passed on to vehicle owners as a welcome gift, and others to be used in silent and grab bag auctions during the event, and of course lots of volunteer hours from our Legion, Auxiliary, and Sons of the Legion members.
The event also includes grilled brats, burgers, cheese, hot dogs, chips, soda and water outside, and plate lunches and a bake sale at inside, with tables and chairs where you can sit down and relax after you view and place your votes on all the cars in the show.
