Hawk Ridge Trail Maintenance

DuFTA is working with the Hawk Ridge Bird Observatory to improve and maintain the fantastic foot trails on Hawk Ridge, to get them in great shape before the prime hawk-watching season begins in mid-August.
We plan to W**d-whip and clear overhanging vegetation on as much of the trail as we can, so the trails are clear and easy to follow.
No experience required; all equipment provided! We'll start at 5:00, and work to 8:00-ish (or as long as you can!) then relax with provided refreshments. Meet at the Hawk Ridge main (paved) overlook on Skyline Parkway (you have to go on gravel for a bit - go through the yellow gates if coming from Glenwood Ave). We recommend bringing water, work gloves, and bug spray and wearing long pants and close-toed shoes.
Once again this year, every time you volunteer with us, you get your name entered into the drawing for Trailfitters gift cards at the end of the year. The more you volunteer, the more chances to win!
