Alice Luck: President and CEO of Kauai Planning Action Alliance, Coordinator of Keiki to Career, will give an informative presentation on The Kaua`i Resilience Project, and an overview of the data and research on youth resilience, including risk and protective factors and our approach to the issue through upstream prevention.
Susana Helm PhD: Community and Culture Psychologist, will provide an orientation on PhotoVoice, a community-based participatory action research (CB/PAR) approach for human rights and social justice initiatives. This presentation will consist of three parts: overview of PhotoVoice (method, training ideas), examples of application in Hawaii and elsewhere, and Q&A discussion. HYSN members interested in scheduling a customized training for their community will have an opportunity to do so.
There will be an opportunity to network and share what your agency is currently working on, as well as door prizes!
We encourage you to bring materials to share for our resource table.
