Havana Highlife Latin Jazz Quintet with guest Yuya Rodriguez at Berlin 09/24/26

Latin Jazz soars at Berlin with Doug Little and Havana Highlife mixing it up with special guest, Miami-based percussionist Yuya Rodriguez. In 2019 Yuya Rodriguez won the prestigious Fiesta del Tambor as the best young percussionist in Cuba. Since that time she has toured internationally with Orquesta Akokán, Jane Bunnett and Maqueque, and others. Yuya is regarded as one of the great young percussionist of her generation.
Yuya has previously appeared in Minneapolis with larger ensembles at the Dakota Jazz Club and for the annual Minnesota Salsa Fiesta. This will be her first visit in a small group setting.
Havana Highlife quintet plays a repertoire of Latin jazz that combine Caribbean rhythms with the harmonic richness of jazz. Bandleader/saxophonist/flutist Doug Little has performed throughout the United States and internationally including performances and recordings in Cuba. Locally he leads the popular salsa band Charanga Tropical.
