The Hauberg History Series returns for 2025 on January 16th at 7PM! Join us along with local author John Brassard Jr. as he discusses the tale of Julia Markham and the tragic fate she inflicted upon her family in the early 1900's.This presentation will be in the Carriage House and admission is $5, cash only, at the door. Admission is free to Friends of Hauberg members. Doors open at 6:30PM with the program beginning at 7PM.
A native Iowan, John Brassard Jr is an author, historian, and storyteller who has a passion for sharing stories of legends and true crime that your grandma didn't want you to hear.
John has been honored to speak at venues across Iowa and Illinois, as well as on radio, podcasts, and television, including on Travel Channel's the Dead Files. A distinguished writer, he is the author of three book and his work has appeared in multiple newspapers and magazines. His podcast, Strange and Dreadful Things, has been listened to by thousands of people all around the world and has just been nominated for an Iowa Podcast Award for Best History Podcast.
