Hatha Yoga Weekend Immersion
About this Event
Hatha is often thought of as the gentle or beginner path into yoga, but it is a powerhouse for so much more. Gifted from Shiva to Parvati, Hatha Yoga is a catalyst for change and high thinking. It is rightfully known as the “yoga of force”, as it effectively churns one’s energy to accelerate a state of consciousness which would otherwise take years to cultivate. Every yoga posture and breathing exercise re-shapes our mind and energy in ways that propel growth.
Inspired by the Hatha Yoga Pradipika and other classical philosophical texts, this immersion covers:
Hatha Yoga - its origin and relationship to all other systems and schools of yoga
Philosophy - most relevant texts and verses that will support an informed discussion around Hatha Yoga Sequencing -postures, breathing, chakras, hold times and the insight that unlocks a deeper practice Gunas - the attributes of nature and their relationship to asana, pranayama and the chakras
Prana – the subtle force and its governing laws
Chakras – tapping into their potential
Suitable for all levels of experience, for both teachers and practitioners
Learn at the hands of Komal Dadlani, a seasoned teacher with 16 years of experience, deeply versed in Hatha’s wisdom and its relationship to scripture.
