A PEN workshop series exploring the collective failures of the Scottish Left, and what we can do about it.
About this Event

In our first session of this series, we open with a political discussion about the current state of politics in Scotland, and internationally. We will consider whether social movements and community activism over the past two decades been effective in countering the ‘failures’ of Left parties. Is a political party necessary to counter the forces opposing the Left in Scotland today? And if it is, does the historic decline of leftist parties represent a ‘failure’ of the left?

This workshop will give participants a chance to bring their own experiences to the table and air their own views of what has gone wrong with the Left. It also will give regular participants in the workshop series a chance to meet each other and share their thoughts and interests before our discussions move online.

Tea, coffee and light refreshments will be provided at this event.
