Join us for a walk to the eerie & historical site of the ‘Winters Gibbet’ & Harwood Forest in Northumberland. This eerie executioner's pole is known as Winter's Gibbet, and it serves as a stark reminder of a grisly murder that took place here in 1791
With Halloween just round the corner let’s take a spooky walk to this creepy landmark, explore the forest & finish off with a hot cuppa & a natter before home.
We’re having a nice early start & should only take 2 hours to fully compete , allowing time for a cuppa. It’s a moderate walk but only for the change in terrain & can be boggy if previously rained.
Good footwear, change of socks, Water & snacks are essential!
waterproofs & warm layers are highly recommend🥶💨
There are sweeping views of the beautiful Northumberland moorlands & Simonside hills.
For anyone wanting to start off and try & relatively easy walk in can company with good crack then please come & join us 🩷
