"When Elwood P. Dowd starts to introduce his imaginary friend, Harvey – a very tall rabbit – to guests at a society party, his sister Veta, can no longer tolerate his eccentricities. She decides to have Elwood committed to Chumley’s Rest, a sanitarium, to spare her family from future embarrassment.
Problems arise, however, when Veta herself is mistakenly assumed to be on the verge of lunacy when she explains to doctors that years of living with Elwood’s hallucination have caused her to see Harvey as well! Veta is committed instead of Elwood, but when the truth comes out, the search is on for Elwood and his invisible companion. When he shows up looking for his lost friend, it seems that the mild-mannered Elwood’s delusion has had a strange influence on more than one of the doctors. Only then does Veta realize that maybe Harvey isn’t so bad after all." - Concord Theatricals
Audition Dates: March 3rd and 4th at the Fairfield Community Arts Center in the Theater from 6pm-9pm
Audition time slots are suggested but not mandatory.

Roles available:
Elwood P. Dowd (Stage Age - 30s to 60s)
Elwood is a charming eccentric who’s best friend is Harvey - an invisible six foot tall rabbit. He has charm and is well mannered. He is Veta’s older brother.
Veta Louise Simmons (Stage Age - 30s to 60s, matching Elwood)
Veta returned to town set on finding a husband for her daughter, Myrtle Mae. She is focused on fitting into society’s values. She loves her older brother Elwood very much.
Myrtle Mae Simmons (Stage Age - young adult, roughly 20 years younger than Veta)
Myrtle Mae is Veta's daughter with the same goal of finding a husband. She is extremely self centered.
Dr. Lyman Sanderson (Stage Age - late 20s to 30s)
Dr. Sanderson is a highly qualified psychiatrist. His talent is only surpassed by his vanity.
Nurse Ruth Kelly (Stage Age - young adult, early 20s to 30s)
Nurse Kelly is a sweet and sympathetic character who shares a love hate relationship with Dr. Sanderson.
Dr. William B Chumley (Stage Age - 50s +)
Dr. Chumley is a difficult and hard headed man set on the successful reputation of his sanitarium.
Betty Chumley (Stage Age - 50s +, to match Dr. Chumley)
Betty is Dr. Chumleys kind and talkative wife.
Ethel Chauvenet (Stage Age - 50s +)
Mrs. Chauvenet is a friend of Elwood’s family. An elite member of the social circle Veta desires to become a part of.
Wilson (late 20’s to 30’s)
Wilson is the muscle of Chumley’s Rest (the sanitarium) and affectionate towards Myrtle Mae.
Judge Omar Gaffney (Stage Age - 40s +)
Elwoods friend and lawyer. Hes protective of their family.
E.J. Lofgren (Stage Age - Any)
Lofgren is a taxi driver who takes people to the sanitarium. He has a monologue at the end of the show that is important to the plot.
