Todd Cowart is a roots rocking, country singer/songwriter from Jenkins County where he grew up on a farm and later moved to Athens, GA where he has spent over 30 years playing music as a solo artist and lead singer of The Hushpuppies Band. His music combines rural themes with the spirit of Country Music’s past. “Angels Building Bridges”, his latest album, was produced by nationally re-known artist, bassist and producer Michael Steele (John Berry, Randall Bramblett) and features Nashville Recording Artist and Country Music legend Brian Burke (Normaltown Flyers).
Ben Reynolds is a decades-long member of the bands Chickasaw Mudd Puppies and Workhorses of the Entertainment/Recreational Industry. In a review of the Mudd Puppies’ most recent album, Fall Line, Americana Highways writes “Flatcar,” one of the band’s first singles off the record is a driving, remarkably satisfying straight ahead rock tune with dark lyrical undertones but sung over guitar lines and drumming that instantly pull you in.” And in a review of WERI’s self-titled debut album, No Depression magazine writes “like a skilled short story writer, Ben Reynolds knows how to get your attention and set a scene.” He and fellow Workhorses Rob Keller, William Tonks, and Sunny Ortiz are currently finishing a follow-up album.
Tommy Jordan is one half of the folk-rock duo, MrJordanMrTonks, and has been active in the Athens music scene for many years. He is the director of the North Georgia Folk Festival and is fluent on guitar, old time banjo, and mandolin. His first solo album of original songs, Georgia Moon, two years in the making, has just been released and is available on all streaming services.
Joshua Walker
As a member of the Holman Autry Band, Joshua has been in and around the Athens, Ga. music scene for 20 years, contributing to all 4 Holman Autry studio albums as a writer, vocalist, and rhythm guitarist. His first Solo project released in 2023 working alongside athens music legends such as Davis Causey, Mike Steele, Tom Ryan, as well as his band mates from Holman Autry. The album: “it’s personal” is a mixture of songs that didn’t quite make it to Holman Autry records or that didn’t get written till after the pandemic. The phrase be careful what you say around Josh, because he may just write a song about it has, in his words, been “one of the best compliments I’ve ever gotten as a songwriter - Thanks for listening!"
Brodye Brooks is a founding member of the Holman Autry Band, a home grown Southern Rock & Country Band that’s been recognized by the Georgia Country Music Hall of Fame. More than just a lead guitarist, Brodye is a member of ASCAP and has songwriting, lead guitarist & backing vocalist credits on all 6 Holman Autry original music albums. His style of playing leaves audiences in shock, joy & awe of his unique talent.
Brodye also lends his talent to other local projects that displays his range as an artist. He plays with Todd Cowart and the Blank Canvas Band; and also plays in Black Cherry Parfait, a rock & pop band fronted by his wife, Jennifer Grier. He’s worked alongside some of the best music legends in Athens such as Davis Causey & Chuck Leavell, while carving out a path all on his own. Any opportunity to watch Brodye perform will be an unforgettable experience.
Bo Hembree is an Alabama-born guitarist who has been a fixture of the Athens, Georgia music scene since 2011. A versatile performer rooted in country, soul, and Southern rock, he has played with numerous regional acts, including Dreams So Real, Mama’s Love, Sunny South Blues Band, and Tribute – A Celebration of the Allman Brothers Band. He founded The Other Brothers Band in 2010 and has led several local residency projects. Today, Hembree performs with The Core: A H.O.R.D.E. Festival Revival, Big C & the Moonshynes, Diablo Sandwich & the Dr. Peppers, Athens A-Train Jazz Band, and Todd Cowart & the Blank Canvas, bringing an improvisational spirit to every performance.
