Hartselle Fourth of July Freedom Celebration

The Hartselle Veterans Parade Committee has been tasked with the Fourth of July Freedom Celebration this year!
We will be revamping the committee as many of the original members from 16 years ago have moved on or passed away. If you want to serve as a member of the Committee, just post below or PM me for a slot. I will resubmit the names of the updated committee to the City Council for approval.
We met today with the Mayor and several civic volunteers to host a celebration of freedom in Hartselle. We are looking for volunteers for some specific activities, and will be working on the following list:
1) Amateur BBQ cookoff with real KCBS judges for fun
2) Car show with prizes (best 1972 Ford Ranchero 500, WILL be a category)
3) Fourth of July parade open to anyone
4) Gun show at the Civic Center
5) Vendors (we support the side hustle and garage manufacturers)
6) Antiques appraiser booth to appraise your family treasures
7) Historical Society displays of Old Hartselle
8 ) The Sons of American Revolution reading the Declaration in period costume, with kids volunteering to dress and read some of it, or tell about the signers.
9) Live stage for free music, preferences to local bands and singers
10) Food trucks
11) Fireworks show by a local church
12) Possible fly-over by Army Blackhawk helicopters
13) Prayer breakfast
14) Rock climbing all
15) Patriotic art contest
16 Interactive Patriot walk for kids to collect stamps and then sign a “Declaration of Independence” with a quill pen.
We will meet again in two weeks and hope to have the events under further planning.
