✨ HARRY POTTER: WIZARDING TECHNICAL THEATER Summer Camp ✨🎭 Actors & Theater Techies | Ages 8–16

Accio imagination! Campers step into the wizarding world through acting, movement, and stage “spell work” while uncovering how real magic is created behind the scenes. This camp blends storytelling, theatrical exploration, and hands-on technical theater—perfect for performers and future backstage wizards.
With house-based activities, ensemble practice, and dramatic storytelling, students learn to wield their voice, curiosity, and confidence like trained witches and wizards. While there is light movement and performance work, this camp does not focus on singing and is ideal for those excited about the technical side of theater.
🎬 Led by true magic-makers:
This camp is taught by our resident Potterhead Melena Dillingham and Cass Opal, Production Manager at the School of Stage and Screen at Western Carolina University.
• Melena brings over 20 years of experience teaching voice and performing professionally.
• Cass has worked as a Production Manager and Lead Electrician at renowned venues including The Wortham Center for the Performing Arts, Juilliard School, The Actors Studio, and Ars Nova in NYC.
🎭 Campers will:
• Rehearse scenes inspired by the Harry Potter stories using expressive movement and magical blocking
• Learn choreography for the Yule Ball and Dark Lord Funk
• Experiment with scenic design to create stage magic
• Learn a bit of real magic from a working magician 🪄
• Enjoy daily craft time creating props, scenic elements, and camp keepsakes
• Perform for family and friends in a Friday Showcase
🎛 Techies will learn:
• Lighting fundamentals
• Sound design
• Stage management
• Scenic design
• How technical theater brings magic to life onstage

• Hours: 9:00 AM – 4:00 PM
• Showcase: Friday at 3:30 PM
• Price: $355 (increases to $375 on April 1)
