Come to Harriton House on Saturday, January 31st, between 10:00 am and 4:00 pm to experience the sites, sounds, and delicious smells as living historians cook in the c. 1790 kitchen. A talented group of history and culinary buffs from throughout the Mid-Atlantic will prepare foods typically served during the Winter months. There will also be slabs of bacon slow-smoking over the fire to complete the preservation process which begins weeks earlier with curing.
This open-house program welcomes visitors between 10:00 am and 4:00 p.m. to talk with the cooks, learn more about life in the 18th century and take informal tours of Harriton House. The program is suitable for all ages although children under the age of 16 must be supervised.
Admission and parking are free but donations to the Harriton Association to help offset expenses are always welcome.
