HDAR is in our 16th year! We are an open community drum circle, gently led by a core group of facilitators. We meet on the 2nd and 4th Tuesday of every month from 7-9, and once a month on the weekend when we can. Extra instruments are usually available for use. As the temperature drops, we again move inside, with an exciting new change! We are overwintering this year at Coexist Gallery Steelton in Steelton, PA! This move brings with it many perks that we didn't have last year. We will be drumming in the side space which is a huge garage with double garage doors. It will be heated, no worries! And if the weather is nice, we can drum outside or open the doors! We will also have the benefit of Coexist's coffee shop, snack bar, and soda coolers, and there's a taco truck and a Jamaican food truck outside until 9! Coexist will stay open for us, so the shop side will also be available, including two bathrooms!
Why do we move inside at this time even if the weather is nice? Because it's too dark for most people to want to be downtown. Even with the street lights, we have to keep safety first. Thanks for understanding!
All levels welcome! Bring your drums, shakers, voices, and other rhythmic instruments, or just come absorb the energy. Flow toys, dancing, juggling and more are welcome! Bring your creativity and join us in mutual merriment creating magic in the moment. Bring your own chair for outside events.
We meet the 2nd and 4th Tuesday of the month at Kunkel plaza on the Susquehanna river May thru October.
