Harmony Voices is a free community-engaged creative program developed with our partner Centacare, designed to build English literacy and fluency through theatre-making, storytelling, and song.
For the past few weeks, facilitator Camila Tirado, with the support of JUTE Creative Producer Rachel Furlong and Executive Artistic Director Chris Kohn, has led a series of workshops with participants from 10 different countries at Bulmba-ja Arts Centre. Centacare provided language and childcare support for the duration of the program.
The project centres cultural knowledge, intergenerational participation, and creative expression as pathways to confidence, communication, and social connection. On Saturday June 27th, participants will showcase what they've been working on, share their stories, dreams for the future and demonstrate to the audience, their family and friends, how their English and confidence as improved over the past few weeks.
