Join us for an exclusive Hard Hat Tour of 1422 Monterey, a transformative mixed-use affordable housing project located in the heart of downtown San Luis Obispo. About the Project
Situated on a 1.42-acre site at 1422 Monterey Street, this innovative development provides 106 deed-restricted affordable rental homes for low-income families and seniors. The project gracefully bridges between the vibrant downtown corridor and a quiet residential neighborhood—achieving high-density urban infill (75 units/acre) while maintaining sensitivity to context and scale.

Visitors will see the progress of this type IIIA, & VB construction project that navigates a 16% site slope, integrating:

• A concealed 3-story parking structure with 95 spaces
• 7,000 sq. ft. of public plazas and two street-facing commercial spaces
• A new transit stop, tree median, and protected bike lane
• Architecture that honors San Luis Obispo’s historic charm with a contemporary flair
