Ivas John
Ivas John is a rare blend of throwback and innovator, effortlessly combining the spirit of old-time music with a fresh, authentic style. Born into a Chicago household rich with the sounds of folk, blues, and European traditions, Ivas was exposed to the world of music from a young age. His earliest influences came from his father, a working-class man and musician, and the folk and blues scene of late 1960s Chicago. These influences shaped the musician Ivas would become—a versatile artist whose style transcends genre and time.
Ivas’ journey has taken him through thousands of performances and several albums, connecting him with audiences across the Midwest. His most recent project, Good Days A Comin’, marked a turning point in his career, bringing him recognition in the world of acoustic music. The album, which Billboard magazine called a “Slam Dunk!”, reached #1 on the folk radio charts and was nominated for Blues Blast Magazine’s Acoustic Album of the Year. With a deep appreciation for storytelling and a mastery of pure acoustic sounds, Ivas John continues to captivate listeners with his dazzling guitar work and warm baritone voice. Whether he's playing blues, folk, or bluegrass, Ivas brings an undeniable authenticity to the stage that appeals to both casual listeners and critics alike.
