About this Event
Hapé is more than a medicine- it is a teacher, a tradition, and a sacred practice that deserves deep respect. This ceremony is designed to provide both education and experience, creating a safe and intentional space for those new to hapé and those looking to deepen their connection with it.
We will begin with an introduction to hapé’s origins, traditional uses, and the importance of ethical sourcing and ceremonial integrity. Understanding the spirit of the tobacco and its role in indigenous traditions is key to working with it in a way that honors its lineage. From there, we will explore safety, preparation, and proper application, ensuring that each participant feels confident and supported in their experience.
With this foundation, we will move into intention-setting, inviting each person to connect with their personal reasons for sitting with the medicine. As hapé is served, we will enter into stillness, allowing its clearing, grounding, and centering effects to be fully received. There will be space for integration, reflection, and discussion, ensuring that the wisdom of the medicine can be carried forward into daily life.
This gathering is not just about receiving hapé—it is about learning to walk with it in a way that is intentional, respectful, and deeply connected to its true purpose.
This ceremony will be at Richards Hart Estate, which is a private outdoor park in Denver. Please bring something to sit on, water, a blanket if you'd like one, a journal, and pen. Ceremony supplies will be provided.
