Blue Jimmy
Growing up and still based in the small town of Bloomﬁeld, New York (just southeast of Rochester, New York), the ﬁve members of Blue Jimmy are comprised of two sets of brothers and a lifelong best friend: Brian Ayers (acoustic guitar, harmonica, lead vocals), Chad Ayers (electric guitar, mandolin, harmony vocals), Steve Nelson (drums), Mike Nelson (bass guitar), and Greg Gefell (electric guitar, pedal steel, resonator, harmony vocals). All spent time in the music program at Bloomﬁeld Central, where the seeds of theory were planted and the bricks of friendship laid at a young age. In addition to writing, recording, engineering, mixing and producing their own music, Greg, Chad and Steve all play instruments they made themselves. Steve is president of his own company, which builds custom drum kits. Chad made one of the guitars he plays and Greg plays a pedal steel that he built from scratch. It is no wonder that they create their music the same way. Crafting songs from a solid heartfelt foundation, technically sound and artistically free, winning the listener over time and time again
