Join the Wayne County Historical Society as we celebrate the 197th anniversary of the first commercial steam locomotive to run on rails in America!
On August 8, 1829, the Stourbridge Lion made history right here in Honesdale, forever changing transportation in the United States. Nearly two centuries later, we're inviting you to celebrate this remarkable milestone with a day filled with history, conversation, and community.

🚂 Joe Senese, D&H Railroad enthusiast and collector, will display selections from his impressive collection while sharing fascinating stories and answering questions.
Enjoy train talks throughout the day, browse the museum's exhibits, including our full-size replica of the Stourbridge Lion, and relax with light refreshments.
