Happily Never After: Midnight Mayhem

Step into a world where fairy tales take a dark twist at the Bippity Boppity Ball. As the clock ticks toward midnight, a M**der has been committed, and it's up to you and your fellow guests to unravel the mystery before the final stroke of the hour. Play as iconic fairy tale characters, teaming up to solve puzzles, crack clues, and uncover the truth in this thrilling Fairy Tale Noir experience. Will you solve the crime before the clock strikes twelve, or will this fairy tale end in disaster?

Once the mystery is solved, we’ll ring in the new year with a countdown and champagne toast, then dance the night away as the magic of midnight transforms the ball into a joyous celebration. Join us for an unforgettable evening of intrigue and fun at Happily Never After: Midnight Mayhem!

As always, no prior experience is needed. Happily Never After is an original game system that we've created. It combines elements of tabletop RPGs such as character abilities and dice rolling with the structure of a typical M**der mystery party. There is nothing else quite like it. Note that unlike many of our TTRPG events, there will be no minis or terrain used for this one. However, expect other kinds of immersion including performance, lights, sound, themed-snacks/drinks, and of course, cosplay.

We encourage you to dress up based on your assigned character! Formal-wear is of course a must but remember, our vibe is Fairy Tale Noir, so go for something that feels like it's out of a fairy tale book, a detective novel, or anything in between. Cosplay/roleplay suggestions will be sent out once characters are assigned. Note that we will email you to have you choose your character after you purchase your ticket. Characters will be chosen on a first-come basis in order of when you bought your ticket.

This in-person event runs from 8pm-1am on Tuesday, December 31st, 2024. The event will be held at the KCPublic's Oak Street Studio - 1519 Oak Street, KCMO, 64108. For more pertinent information be sure to read everything below!

Your ticket gets you:

• Entry to our one-of-a-kind M**der mystery experience.
• Two (2) raffle tickets allowing you the chance to win some great prizes.
• Access to the complimentary refreshments table (snacks, drinks, etc.)
• Midnight countdown celebration and dance party.

Important Info:

• Check-In begins at 7:30pm. At check-in you'll receive two (2) raffle tickets along with a character packet.
• This event is intended for adults 21+. No alcohol will be served to under age guests.
• Additional raffle tickets and merch will be available for purchase.
• Unlike previous Tipsy Bard events, this time we won't have a bar. However, there will be complimentary refreshments both alcoholic and non-alcoholic, sweet treats, and a plethora of snacks. Still, we recommend you eat dinner before arriving.
• Everything needed to play will be provided. Just bring yourself and an open mind!
• Once you buy your ticket, we will email you to have you choose your character. Keep your eyes peeled for that email.
• There is limited parking available in the lot on the southside of the building. Beyond that, street parking is your best bet.
