Hanover Square Lunchtime Concert: Razmik Melkonian

Today's Hanover Square Lunchtime Concert is given by pianist Razmik Melkonian, who will perform the following programme:

Liszt - Vallée d'Obermann from Années de pèlerinage S. 160
Debussy - Estampes L. 100
Edvard Baghdasaryan - Prelude No. 24 in D minor
Ghazaros Saryan arr. Melkonian - Aria from Aria and Toccata for violin and piano
Scriabin - Two Poems Op. 32
Edvard Baghdasaryan - Prelude No. 6 in B minor

As always admission is free with a retiring collection in support of the concert series.

Armenian pianist Razmik Melkonian is a recent graduate of the Royal Academy of Music, where he completed a Master of Arts in Piano and was awarded the Brenda Webb Award for Piano Accompaniment in 2022. During his studies, he was supported by the Manoukian Scholarship and the AGBU Performing Arts Scholarship.

He has had the privilege of working closely with distinguished pianists including Diana Ketler, Colin Stone, Mei-Ting Sun, Florian Mitrea and Jan Loeffler, and has participated in masterclasses with Andreas Frölich, Ian Fountain, Tatiana Sarkissova and others.

Razmik has curated and performed in a number of collaborative projects across London, including the Music from Armenia chamber music concert, as well as song recitals and opera productions.

He is currently completing the Advanced Professional Diploma in Repetiteur Studies at the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire, where he works closely with staff and students in the Vocal and Opera Department on opera productions and a wide range of collaborative projects. He is generously supported by the Eric Sykes Opera Scholarship, the Ouzounian Trust Scholarship and the Robert Turnbull Piano Foundation.
