Formed in Mid-Missouri, vocalist Garrett Curry united with drummer Brent Williams, bassist Dylan Riggs, and guitarists Luke Anderson and Ryan Sapp to establish the band Hang Your Hate (HYH). They quickly earned a strong following in their hometown of Columbia, MO, largely through word of mouth and their raw, cathartic live shows. Released in late 2024, their first EP, Greater Picture Paranoia, introduced a frantic blend of unorthodox stylings, uprooting formulaic conventions without losing sight of melodic hooks and dynamics. Equal parts unconventional and comfortably nostalgic, the music offers a delicate balance of tension and release that lays the groundwork for Curry’s ardent, contemplative, and at times self-reflective lyricism. HYH continues to carve out a name for themselves in the Midwest and beyond, having previously shared the stage with bands such as Saint Asonia, Shaman’s Harvest, Silly Goose, Post Profit, Oxymorron’s and many others.
