Hands of Renewal: Intuitive Painting and Somatic Release Experience

Description of Event:
This New Year intuitive painting and somatic release experience invites participants to slow down, reflect, and intentionally step into the year ahead. We will begin with guided reflection on 2025—honoring what has shaped us, acknowledging what is ready to be released, and create a brief visual timeline, commemorate and bring to closure to the prior year.

Through gentle somatic practices such as breath, guided awareness, and grounding, participants will be supported in releasing stored emotional and energetic residue from the past year and clarifying what we want to carry forward. From this embodied space, we will create two intuitive paintings of hands:

• One hand representing what we are letting go of
• One hand representing what we are holding onto and nurturing

No prior painting experience is needed. This is not about artistic perfection, but about expression and presence, through the body and creative process. So often in our healing, as mirrored in our art, we focus on the end product but forget that the true beauty is in the process, in the journey it took to get there.

• Journaling and reflection prompts to take with you and continue your practice at home

Participants will leave feeling lighter, clearer, and more connected to what truly matters to them moving into the new year.

Bio:
Jenn LaMar is an intuitive artist and somatic facilitator who creates experiences at the intersection of embodiment, creativity, and emotional release. She has been a high school art teacher for 16 years, working specifically with at-risk youth in the continuation school setting. In 2022, she earned a Masters Degree in Social Emotional Learning (SEL), utilizing mindfulness art methods in her classroom to break barriers, and now her research is being considered for publishing.

For the past 3 years, she has been leading intuitive art workshops and seminars at multiple mental health centers for youth and adults, training other art teachers how to incorporate trauma informed instruction for their subject, and has begun building a healing practice of her own: jenn.tuitive. Her work centers on helping people heal and reconnect with their inner wisdom through somatics, breathwork, various forms of art, intentional ritual, psychic intuition, energetic and sound healing, and more. Jenn creates spaces that are accessible, grounding, and deeply transformative.
