The Hands of Light 5K is a glow run lighting up Downtown Morganton on Saturday, October 25, 2025. The fun starts at 6pm with a family friendly event hosted at the Courthouse Square including food trucks, inflatables, face painting, and more. The race race will begin at sunset, participants are required to arrive by 8:00pm.
What to Expect:
-> A fun run through downtown filled with glowing areas
-> Rock your tackiest outfit and glow accessories
-> Family-friendly fun starting at 6:00pm: food trucks, inflatables, face painting, and more
-> A high-energy post-race dance party with black lights, summer hits, and throwback jams as you cross the finish line
Will the race be timed?
We will informally time the race in order to capture awards for 1st-3rd place.
What is the cost and what is included in with my registration?
Participants who sign up before the Early Registration Deadline of October 3rd will be guaranteed a t-shirt, glow swag, and glow in the dark medal. Participants who sign up after October 4th will receive these items while supplies last.
Early Registration: $35
Late Registration: $40
What happens after the run?
There will be an after post run party with the best hits of the summer and well known throwbacks. There will be lights, backlights, and glow!
What is the importance of this event?
This annual 5k is a fundraiser for our Hope Pantry which provides essential supplies and food to families in need.

La carrera de 5K Manos de Luz es una carrera luminosa que iluminará el centro de Morganton el sábado 25 de octubre de 2025. La diversión comienza a las 6 p. m. con un evento familiar en la Plaza del Palacio de Justicia, que incluye food trucks, inflables, pintacaritas y mucho más. La carrera comenzará al atardecer y los participantes deben llegar a las 8:00 p. m.

¿Se cronometrará la carrera?
Cronometraremos la carrera informalmente para otorgar premios al 1.er, 2.er y 3.er lugar.
¿Cuál es el costo y qué incluye mi inscripción? Los participantes que se inscriban antes de la fecha límite de inscripción anticipada, el 3 de octubre, recibirán una camiseta, artículos promocionales luminosos y una medalla que brilla en la oscuridad. Los participantes que se inscriban después del 4 de octubre recibirán estos artículos hasta agotar existencias.
