About this Event
Learn to Recognize Fracture Features
The greatest source of information as to why something failed is the broken part itself. This course teaches how to examine and interpret the fracture surfaces of steel mechanical failures. Participants learn on actual failed parts, examining dozens of failed parts using stereo microscopes.
This is a very practical course. Its introduces how to recognize and interpret fatigue, brittle and ductile fracture features. It starts with easy fractures yet gradually becomes harder, each fracture helping build experience and introducing new concepts. Once the base skills are established, participants work as teams to examine and solve failures from real cases.
One Day Course (packed 8 hours), $995/participant.
Topics Covered:
- Introduction
- Ductile Overload
- Brittle Fracture
- Fatigue Failures
- Failure Analysis Exercises
- Bolt Failures
Video correction - course name has been changed to 'Handling Mechanical Failures'. Who Should Attend:
Everyone dealing with metal equipment failures. Ideal for reliability, mechanical engineers, inspectors and metallurgists.
If you have over ten people on your team, it might be worth considering holding this course at your facility. Contact us to learn more.
Course based upon the content covered in the book "Decoding Mechanical Failures". A copy comes with the course materials.
