In this hands on workshop, we will explore the technique of hand painting yarns using tools that are easily acquired. We will learn about color theory, safety in the dye lab, and how to prepare fibers for the best results.
After a demonstration, we will put our knowledge to the test as we apply dye to two hanks of our very own. Once the dye is set you’ll observe a demonstration of how to finish your freshly dyed yarn at home. At the end of our time together, you’ll head home with printed reference materials on what you just learned, as well as your still-warm, custom-colored yarn.
