This class is the perfect beginner hand lettering class for teens 12 and older. We'll go over all the basics of hand lettering with lots of practice prompts. This class will teach teens how to use the writing skills they already have (no matter what their hand writing looks like!) and they'll be hand lettering like a pro in no time. Attendees will have the option of practicing during the class with pencils, markers, or brush pens (or all three!) depending on their comfort level. This class will use Shannon's adult Hand Lettering 101 workbook, but the teaching fun and geared towards teens.All the supplies needed to practice hand lettering during the class will be provided and you will receive a digital copy of all materials to continue practicing after the class. As part of the registration fee, you’ll receive a packet of information printed and digital that includes the basics we’ll go over in class, tips and tricks, sample alphabets, and practice pages. A Tombow Lettering in Color kit (a $35 value) with various sized brush pens can be included in the fee if desired.
This class is scheduled for June 25, 2026 at the Makery in Downtown State College from 4:30-6:00pm.
