Hand Embroidery class for beginners (February 2026)

This embroidery class is for true beginners! My goal for the class is for you to walk away ready to pick up a kit or start your own project with confidence. I think beginner skills are best split over 2 lessons, so you have time in between to practice, and I don't want anyone to get frustrated.

Dates: This session will be 2 Sunday afternoons in a row - 2/8 AND 2/15 from 12-2pm.

Location: Upcycle Fitness & Social Club at 716 Haddon Ave in Collingswood.

Cost of the class: $80 per person (+ processing fees) and that includes all materials listed below AND 1 drink of your choice from the coffee bar during each session.

You will learn:

- What materials you need to get started with embroidery

- How to set up a hoop, and some tips for embroidering on clothing

- 10 beginner stitches (maybe more - as time allows!)

- How to transfer patterns onto fabric, we can talk about kits and stick & stitch

- I can answer other questions you have as we go!

Materials provided (you can take these home to keep after class):

- embroidery hoop

- beginner template printed on fabric

- needle

- 2 colors of embroidery floss, 1 perle cotton

- embroidery scissors

- needle threader

- needle minder

- heat erasable pen

- a few other surprises :)
