Hand-Building with Clay - Basics

Four Sessions: Tuesdays, April 8, 15, 22 and May 6, 2025. 6-9pm

In this series of classes, participants will be introduced to the basics of hand-building with clay. They will learn how to make vases, bowls, plates, mugs and more using coil, pinch and slab techniques. The instructor will cover essential skills like clay preparation, scoring and slipping to join clay pieces, shaping techniques and basic surface decoration. Participants will be able to create personalized projects using the techniques taught. Completed projects will be fired and glazing techniques will be covered. *No pottery wheels will be used in this class. All supplies will be provided. No experience necessary. Ages 14+
