About this Event
Learn all the basics skills to create hand built bowls, vases and mugs during this 4 week ceramic course.
Week 1
Press mould bowls. We will roll out a slab of clay and drop it into a premade bowl to create a bowl shape, we will then decorate the bowls using coloured slip using sponge and paper stencil techniques.
Week 2
Slab vase making with relief decoration. We will create vases using slab building techniques, and add relief shapes for decoration.
Week 3
Coil built mug. We will roll out coils of clay and build up layers to create the mug body and add handles.
Week 4
Glazing week. We will glaze all of the pottery from the previous 4 weeks using a white or transparent glaze with a selection of different coloured glaze stain washes to choose from.

Please note: The course will start on Friday 1st may, and run for 4 concecutive Fridays until 22nd May. Each session will be 10am - 12pm.
Artist bio:
Poppy Davis(AKA CloD) is a ceramicist based at Sunny Bank Mills, she has been making and selling pottery for over 9 years and teaches classes across West Yorkshire. She creates functional pottery and decorates it in distinctive colourful designs inspired by nature.

Workshop and course bookings can be cancelled and refunded up until 7 days before the scheduled start date. As materials and equipment are ordered in advance, we regret that refunds cannot be offered less than 7 days before the workshop date. Please note that Eventbrite’s booking fee is non-refundable.
If we need to cancel the course for any reason your ticket will be fully refunded.
