Hanan “HB1” Browning is a Mobile, Alabamabased singer/songwriter known for his genreblending style, well-crafted songs and dynamic performances. A lifelong songwriter, Hanan finally decided to abandon the traditional 9to-5 career track in 2022 and completely dedicate himself to music. Channeling almost 40 years of songwriting experience into his debut album Empyrean Tides, Hanan’s sudden transition from the corporate world to the stage has brought a fresh energy to the Gulf Coast music scene. Having walked away from a successful career in the oil and gas industry, Hanan quickly set himself apart with an ambitious and creative vision. Local press took notice. Lagniappe Mobile observed that Hanan “has used his music to set himself apart in the local music scene,” delivering the type of live experiences “almost unheard of in the Azalea City.” Local news channels and radio stations followed suit; regularly featuring Hanan as a live in-studio guest, and giving his songs time in-rotation. Since emerging as a full-time musician, Hanan has immersed himself in Mobile’s vibrant music scene. He honed his craft performing at intimate listening rooms, respected music venues and songwriter showcases across the region. At venues like Manci’s Antique Club (Daphne), Callaghan’s Irish Social Club (Mobile), The Page and Pallett (Fairhope), and The Frog Pond Sunday Social (Silverhill), Hanan has used his unique brand of storytelling, powerful songwriting prowess, and energetic performances to build a grassroots following that has set him apart from other regional acts.
