About this Event
Join the Conservation Commission for an early summer BioBlitz in the Town Forest!
What is a BioBlitz? It is a species scavenger hunt where volunteers help find and record data on as many different species as possible in a certain area and a short amount of time. Participants will share their findings using iNaturalist, where the final number of species identified will be tallied. No experience necessary as we will have experts joining us to help with identification!
Limited Parking is available on White's Lane but walking, biking and carpooling is encouraged.
All ages are welcome but we kindly ask that children are accompanied by a guardian. Nature Bingo will be available for children 10 and under.
Come prepared to spend the morning outside! Bring a water bottle and a camera and/or phone to take pictures and download the iNaturalist app ahead of time if you are able!
We will provide bug spray and sunscreen and helpful identification materials. Please be aware, there is no bathroom on site.
This event is free and open to the public. Pre-registration is encouraged but not required. Any questions? Reach out to Brianna Hagan, Conservation Coordinator, at [email protected] or 603-929-5808.
