Please join the Hampden Township Veterans Recognition Committee on Saturday, May 23, 2026 at 11 am as we host the annual Hampden Township Memorial Day Service. The service will be held at the Captain Leon Lock Veterans Memorial, located in the Hampden Township Veterans Park, 4345 Marketplace Way, Enola, PA 17025.
The keynote address will be given by Colonel Sue Myers, United States Army (Retired), who will speak about the sacrifices made by women and men of our Armed Forces who have died in defense of this Nation. She is a Gold Star Spouse and was married to Major General Harold Greene, who died in Afghanistan in 2014.
We will also be remembering Captain William Hendricks of Cumberland County, who was killed in action during the Revolutionary War.
VFW Memorial Post 6704 will provide the honor guard.
Music will be provided by the Cumberland Valley High School Brass Quintet and noted local tenor Chris Earhart. Veterans are invited to wear their uniforms or service ribbons.
In case of inclement weather, the service will be held in the community room at the Hampden Township Volunteer Fire Company Station 1, 1200 Good Hope Rd., Mechanicsburg, PA 17050.
