Traverse the Downtown Newark Halsey Street neighborhood of Newark with experienced local guides to learn about Newark history, as well as the art, food, and architecture of today.

Meet Your Guest Host: Courtnie

This special Have You Met Newark coffee tour is guest hosted by Courtnie, a proud Newark resident who has spent more than a decade supporting and engaging with communities across the city. Professionally, she works in community engagement, public policy, violence prevention and higher education, but at her core she’s passionate about bringing people together and creating opportunities to connect.

Outside of her professional work, Courtnie is an avid traveler who is always in search of culture, great food, and exceptional coffee. Wherever she goes, discovering local coffee shops has become her favorite travel side quest, learning that every cup tells a story. She believes every café has a story to tell, offering a glimpse into the people, history, and character that make each community unique.

For Courtnie, coffee is about much more than what’s in the cup. It’s the comforting aroma that signals a fresh start to the day, the simple joy of slowing down, and the conversations that naturally unfold around a shared table. Coffee has a unique way of bringing people together, creating connections that transcend backgrounds and cultures. Some of the best ideas, friendships, and memories begin over a cup of coffee.
