Join us, CLAASH Pumpkins, this October at as we host a cosy seasonal evening workshop! 🎃
Learn the art of pumpkin carving at a relaxed, hands on experience. We’ll be sharing our top tips & tricks for creating your design, carving it and helping it last as long as possible. All figured out from our years of experience carving professionally (yes…we’re professional pumpkin carvers for one month a year!)
During this 90-minutes workshop, we will guide you through carving your own pumpkin to take home (without all the mess!). All materials, pumpkins and proper tools are provided.
No experience is necessary, we make sure our workshops are suitable for everyone so whether you're a beginner or have carved a or two pumpkin before, we hope you'll relax and enjoy a fun evening! Please note, this workshop is for adults over 16 only.
A bit about us...
CLAASH Pumpkins (est. 2014) are Scotland's premiere pro pumpkin carvers : creating custom carves, providing demos and leading workshops for community and corporate groups of all sizes.
With years of experience in community arts, we have provided annual carving and decorating workshops for children and adults alike, helping people of all ages and abilities channel their inner Halloween spirit!
Along with work for private clients and events, most notably we have provided demos for Glasgow Science Centre ; workshops for the annual GlasGLOW event held by Itison at Glasgow’s Botanic Gardens, and have carved the thematic feature pumpkins for the Pumpkin Patch since its inception in 2019.

A Celtic Halloween tradition...
Pumpkin carving is a relatively recent addition to the festivities in Scotland, a more common Halloween tradition being the carving of turnips. Unknown to many, so much of our modern secular activities have their origins in much more ancient beliefs and customs…
SAMHAIN (pronounced sau-ihn) - the celtic roots of Halloween, the end of the harvest, the division between the light and dark halves of the year and a time when the veil between our world and the spirit world was thought to be at its thinnest.
A time where ancestors are to be honoured and disguises donned to hide and protect from any evil spirits that may roam. Bonfires and lanterns to light through the darkness cleanse and protect the rituals and divination, offerings of food to appease the gods and the spirits.
