Halloween Ink Making Workshop

Welcome to the Halloween Natural Ink Workshop!

Join Helen and Tom to embark on your magical inky adventures. Taking place at The Make Space, set in the beautiful Tithe Barn, Bradford-on-Avon.

Learn how to brew up magical inks, including oak gall and iron black!

In this workshop we will teach you how to be an ink maker, you will be shown how to extract natural dye from plant materials, how to refine your ink and mix it with gum Arabic to form luscious, beautiful colours that are a pleasure to paint and draw with.

You will also receive a digital manual covering all of these techniques so you can carry on ink making at home. A word of warning, it can be very addictive!

The morning will be a wonderful chance to meet other likeminded people and will promise to be an assault on the senses with bubbling pots of liquor, earthy smells and alchemic reactions.

In this workshop, you will be taken outside and shown how to forage (weather permitting) You will be taught how to extract colour from our finds and how to play with modifiers and binders.

You will take home home a bottle of potion (ink) and we will send you a digital instruction manual upon completion.

All materials will be provided.

Tea and coffee will be provided.

Wear clothes you don't mind getting inky.

We run our workshop at a minimum of 4 people. If bookings are less than this number, we will postpone the workshop and either transfer your booking to an alternate date or give a full refund (you can choose your preference)
