Are you interested in trying non-competitive long-distance cycling? If so, why not try the Halloween Hundred, starting from Ladybank, Fife? The ride is run by volunteers under Audax UK, the UK's long distance cycling association.
As it is a Halloween themed ride, the route takes in plenty of graveyards, morthouses, romantic ruins, Gothic chapels, spooky villages and autumnal scenery. There are flexible start times (0845-1000) and parking nearby. The route starts and finishes opposite Ladybank rail station, which gets regular trains from Edinburgh, Perth and Dundee directions.
You can sign up at the Audax UK webpage on or before 10 October. The entry fee includes a bag of refreshments, including a witch-baked brownie and other snacks at a checkpoint on the route, and a soup and roll at The Golf Inn, Ladybank. Please note that you cannot just turn up and ride. We had 70 participants last year (all finished) and I need to inform my suppliers and organiser the food. Thank you for entering advance.
