Hadestown: Teen Edition is a modern retelling of two intertwining Greek myths: the love stories of Orpheus and Eurydice, and King Hades and Persephone. Set in a stylized, industrial underworld, the show follows Orpheus, a hopeful musician, as he journeys to Hadestown to rescue Eurydice after she is lured there by Hades, who promises security in exchange for her freedom.
As Orpheus risks everything to bring her back, the story explores themes of love, trust, sacrifice, and the struggle between hope and fear. Narrated by the charismatic Hermes, the musical blends folk, jazz, and blues to create a powerful, haunting tale about holding onto hope even in the darkest times.
