The Monastery is pleased to offer a brand new, practical help and advice session for women experiencing hair loss due to chemotherapy and/or alopecia. It's a free service for women seeking help and advice with hair loss, wigs, and/or head coverings, offering a beacon of hope to those navigating this challenging journey."Hair to Help," provides free, personalised support including wig styling, and regrowth advice. The service is led by Bernadette, a professional stylist with thirty years of experience, including 12 years specifically working with chemotherapy and radiotherapy patients.
"Losing your hair can be deeply traumatic and significantly impact self-esteem," explains Bernadette. "Questions like 'Will it grow back?' and 'Will it be the same colour?' are common concerns among patients. My aim is to provide practical solutions alongside emotional support during this difficult time."
The service extends beyond cancer patients to include individuals suffering from alopecia. While not offering clinical advice, the program provides expert wig trimming, styling consultations, and guidance on head scarf techniques.
