Before "Jurassic Park," there was the 1969 novel that started it all, and our next selection for Hagaman Library's Science Fiction Book Club: "The Andromeda Strain" by Michael Crichton! When a military satellite crashes in a remote Arizona town, it brings back something deadly from the edge of space. Within hours, nearly every resident of Piedmont is dead, save for two people: a healthy, newborn baby, and a sickly old man. Locked in a race against the clock, they must isolate and neutralize this alien biological weapon before it mutates, escapes, and wipes out all human life.
