Adventurous kayakers will enjoy this popular group tour through the Sawmill Creek Wildlife Management Area at dusk with our experienced guides.*
* Due to our Laurel Hill docks being under renovation, the upcoming moonlight tours will explore Mill Creek Marsh and surrounding areas.
All “Mooners” take place on incoming tides.
ATTENTION: Please note location change. Temporarily, this year's tours will start from River Barge Park in Carlstadt, as our docks at Laurel Hill are under renovation. If/when subsequent tours change back to Laurel Hill, we will let attendees know.

Tickets are available to rent one of our kayaks, or bring your own!
*NOTE: For those who would like to bring their own boats, traditional PVC kayaks perform best in the waters of Laurel Hill. It is recommended that foldable kayaks be models that are specified as suitable for choppy water. Not every foldable kayak is appropriate or sturdy enough for live current/choppy water paddling. Inflatable kayaks are generally not recommended as they could risk puncture in the tall grasses and may be hindered if the wind gusts. If unsure, we recommend you rent one of ours.
POLICIES:
Please arrive 1/2 hour to 45 minutes before tour time. We cannot hold the tour back if you are late. If you are running late, please call the Paddling Program Manager at 201-906-0925.
All boats MUST have night navigation lights. If you are bringing your own boat, please also bring navigation lights (red, green, white). We have limited supply and may not have availability to loan you. Feel free to bring a flashlight or headlamp too!
Refund policy: We do not honor refunds for No-Shows. There are no refunds for those who arrive late after the tour has left. If you realize you cannot make your date/time, we can transfer your ticket to another date with advance notice. If you wish to get a refund for a date you cannot attend, we require you contact us at least 24 hours beforehand.
Weather: If weather is predicted to be inclement (thundertorms, high winds) or if heavy cloud cover is predicted, we will notify everyone via email through eventbrite messaging up to 2 hours before the trip, in which everyone will receive refunds - or if available, a chance to move their ticket to a future date.
Minimum guest reservations. We will run our tours with a minimum of 4 guests. If we have less than the minimum signed up, we will contact you and ask if we can change your ticket to another date, or issue you a refund.
You must stay with the group. In the event you must return to the launch early, one of our guides will chaperone you.
All rates are considered tax deductible donations to Hackensack Riverkeeper, a 501(3)(c) organization.
