The Hackensack MP3 Experiment is a one-of-a-kind participatory event brought to Hackensack by ImproveEverywhere as part of Illumination 250, a celebration of Hackensack's 250th anniversary. On October 3, hundreds of strangers will gather in a public space, press play at the same moment, and follow secret synchronized audio instructions delivered straight to their ears.
What happens next? That's the surprise.
It's part flash mob, part silent disco, part immersive theatre, and 100% fun. The New York Times called it "hilarious... like a political rally, but with more to do. Find a way to be part of it." This is the kind of night you'll be talking about for years.
The MP3 Experiment has surprised and delighted tens of thousands of people across dozens of cities worldwide. Now it's Hackensack's turn.
Bring your phone, bring your headphones, and bring a friend. All ages welcome. Free and open to the public.
